3 ingredient Avocado smoothie

I grew up eating Avocado smoothies as dessert. Avocadoes are typically in season from May to September. You can tell the good ones by their shape (pear shaped), skin (green and purple OK, smooth and shiny) and sound (when you shake them, you'll hear the seed inside). The best ones are sticky (masapog), contain little fiber, and deep yellow in color.

While the young me would have loved to eat this with evaporated milk and brown sugar (muscovado is best), the older and wiser me now would skip the sugar and milk to prepare a healthy version suitable to my age.

Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: zero

  • 1 piece ripe avocados, seeds or pit removed, sliced in half
  • 1 serving LivStrong (sachet or 6 scoops). Any variant will do
  • 200ml water
  • Crushed ice

Directions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve LivStrong in small amount of warm water. Add 200ml water.
  2. Remove the cheeks of the avocado using a spoon and add into the bowl
  3. Add crushed ice and serve

For better results, I would recommend to throw the ingredients into a personal blender and blend for a few minutes until you reach your desired consistency. The result will be thicker and creamier because it aerates the mixture.
